Infused vs. Non-Infused Pre-Rolls
A pre-roll is just a joint someone already ground and rolled for you. The next choice is simple: standard pre-rolls are pure flower, while infused pre-rolls add a layer of concentrate for more punch.
Standard pre-rolls: pure flower, classic smoke
A standard pre-roll is THCa hemp flower ground and rolled into a ready-to-smoke cone, with nothing added. Because it is just flower, it tends to burn evenly and smoothly, and it carries the strain's natural aroma and flavor. It is the familiar, classic joint experience.
This is the easy starting point if you are newer to pre-rolls, or if you just want a straightforward smoke without extra intensity.
Infused pre-rolls: flower plus concentrate
An infused pre-roll starts with the same flower, then adds a concentrate for extra strength. You will see a few common types:
- Kief: the loose, powdery trichomes sifted from flower, often coated on the outside or mixed in.
- Diamonds: crystalline concentrate that is very potent.
- Rosin: a solventless concentrate pressed from flower using heat and pressure.
Adding concentrate raises the total potency and usually makes the pre-roll burn slower and last longer. The trade-off is that it can smoke a little harsher, and it typically costs more than a plain pre-roll.
How to pick, and why to go slower with infused
Match the format to your experience and what you want from the session:
- New, or after a mellow, classic smoke: go with a standard pre-roll.
- Experienced, or after more strength and a longer-lasting joint: an infused pre-roll makes sense.
Because infused pre-rolls are more potent, go slower. Take a puff or two, wait, and see where you land before continuing. If you are not sure how much is right for you, our guide on how much THCa flower to smoke walks through it. Every pre-roll we carry is hemp that tests under the 0.3% Delta-9 THC limit by dry weight, with a COA you can read, and rules vary and can change.

What is the difference between infused and non-infused pre-rolls?
A non-infused (standard) pre-roll is just ground flower rolled into a joint. An infused pre-roll adds a concentrate like kief, diamonds, or rosin, so it is more potent and tends to burn longer.
Are infused pre-rolls stronger?
Yes. Adding concentrate raises the total potency, so infused pre-rolls hit stronger than standard ones. Go slower with them, especially if you are new.
Which pre-roll is better for beginners?
A standard, non-infused pre-roll is the easier starting point. It is pure flower, smokes smoother, and is less intense than an infused one.
Do infused pre-rolls burn longer?
Usually, yes. The concentrate makes them burn slower and last longer than a plain flower pre-roll, though it can also make the smoke a little harsher.
